With a minimalist design, the Evie Launcher has captured many eyeballs and some hearts too . A third-party launcher replaces your complete home screen with new features and gives you endless customization settings for the user which can easily set it according to their choice. What can I say about Nova Launcher that hasn’t been said before? This year, Nova received true Google Now integration on the home screen, and recently got Sesame Shortcuts integration, which is an immensely useful feature, in my humble opinion.

If you have some sensitive apps on your device, you can go ahead and hide them from being listed in the app drawer. Further, you can sort apps based on recency, file size, and several other metrics, so you’re in full control of how the apps are laid out on your phone. Apex Launcher is a free download on the Google Play Store and lacks ads or in-app purchases. Evie Launcher is a newer launcher that is more simplistic than Nova Launcher, but no less enjoyable to use. The home screen is just four quick launch icons and a search bar. Swipe down to access the search function and swipe up to access the app drawer.

Should I Use Launcher?

It uses a minimalist design to keep the app drawer tidy, features a convenient search function for finding icon colours, apps, and files. Its feature highlights include contact organization, gesture customization, searching the web or finding locally stored files and apps using Microsoft’s universal search bar. I use Nova Launcher but also used Evie, just to test it. The Download Evie Launcher APK for Android launcher is decent, but could have some slow responses.

• Finally, you can also choose whether to use a button or swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the app drawer.
• Here, you will see options to customize the Homescreen, Dock, Icons pack, Folders and more.
• Then, scroll down and enable the toggle for Hide App icons.
• If you are looking for Material Design themed icons for your Android device, this is the one to get.
• You don’t need to search for app each time you can just add them to dock setting and use by only one tap on home screen.
• Either way, both provide several options to choose from.

Besides letting you change the icon shape, you can also change the number of columns and icon size of folder items. But, if you somehow missed that screen or you want to import from a different launcher, you would have to uninstall and reinstall the Evie Launcher to do so. Thankfully, the Microsoft Launcher lets you import home screen any time from the settings. The developers keep on adding features to these launchers.

Hides Apps Easily

From icon pack support to app drawer customization, it comes with tons of features. I have been using Nova launcher for six years, and it never disappointed me. It’s the best third-party launcher for Android in a lot of ways. My home screen is set up with my most-used apps, a search bar, an alarm and Month widget. I chose to use a dock, but Evie gives the option to omit it.
